While Irmo Fire units were on scene of a two-alarm structure fire, our neighbors from Lexington County Fire responded to a vehicle accident on St. Andrews road at Murraywood Drive. Two vehicles collided in the intersection and one overturned, trapping the driver inside. Crews quickly removed the roof from the vehicle and removed the driver. Injuries sustained were moderate but not life threatening. Whenever there is a major incident in the Midlands, the fire departments across the region work together to ensure that resources are available and emergency calls are always answered, regardless of jurisdiction. Today was a great example of how our system works.
