All IFD units responded to an early morning house fire on Firebranch St. near Bush River Road. Fire crews battled freezing temperatures while extinguishing the fire, which was brought under control in less than an hour. The occupants of the home were displaced but escaped without harm. Columbia Fire Department, Lexington County Fire Service, and West Columbia Fire Department provided assistance.
