“B” Shift makes a stop

On September 4th 2022 IFD Firefighters from ”B” shift responded to a reported house fire in the Friarsgate section of Irmo. Engine Co. 171 led by Captain Dominick Boyce arrived on the scene to find smoke showing from the home. Captain Boyce had his crew stretch a 1.75 inch hand line for fire attack. The crew had the line stretched and charged with water in under one minute. The fire was located and knocked down within 3 minutes of the crews arrival on the scene. The fire was contained to the room of origin. Ladder Co. 175 and CRFS Rescue 2 arrived on the scene and assisted in completing a primary search along with salvage and overhaul operations.

Automatic Aid was provided into Irmo from: Columbia-Richland Fire Department, West Columbia Fire Department and the Lexington County Fire Service.
