At 1am, I-26 eastbound has been a mess through the Irmo area. There was a major vehicle incident at the 105mm that closed the freeway for nearly an hour. Police activity at the 130mm had all lanes closed there, too. Stuck in the backup was a pregnant woman whose baby decided now is the time. The soon to be parents made it to the hospital safely courtesy of our friends at Lexington County EMS. As of 1:30 the freeway has reopened but two lanes remain blocked eastbound between Piney Grove and St. Andrews.
