While visiting Emmitsburg for the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend this past weekend, IFD members were able to make a short trip up to Gettysburg and take a “staff ride” tour of  the battleground. Throughout the tour members learned about both the Union and Confederate Army Generals commanding the battle, and how their leadership styles and decision making processes affected their men and the outcomes. The tour was led by a phenomenal guide who challenged our guys and gals on what it means to be a leader on the fire ground and within the community. We were grateful for the opportunity!
